Rural Health Workforce Senior Researcher / Project Manager

RPAP | Health Workforce for Alberta is one of Canada’s more comprehensive NGO programs for the education, attraction and retention of health service providers (with an emphasis on physicians) to work in rural Alberta.  We intend to hire a Rural Health Workforce Senior Researcher / Project Manager to support our research and analysis function and assist in expanding our capacity in research in pursuit of the ongoing development of innovative programs for improved rural health.

The Rural Health Workforce Senior Researcher / Project Manager supports KPI reporting, program evaluation, research projects, program planning and spearheading the effort for additional research funding and grant applications.  This includes sourcing out and applying for additional research funding, database maintenance, survey administration, statistical modelling, environmental scanning of business and health sector issues and report writing.  The Rural Health Workforce Senior Researcher / Project Manager provides monthly updates to the RPAP team and collaborates regularly with RPAP stakeholders.  The work undertaken by this position assists in ensuring RPAP continues to make a significant and sustainable contribution to rural health.

We are seeking someone who is collaborative, comfortable with thinking outside of the box, organized, self-motivated, flexible, can assess and react appropriately to different situations, has sound judgment, strong analytical and communication (written, verbal and visualization) skills, and the ability to work with confidential information. You also have significant experience in identifying and writing proposals for research funding.

Working with RPAP means you are a team player, collaborative leader, and have the ability to inspire the best in others.

Ideally, you have university degree in a field such as public health, business, statistics or MIS and have 3-6 years of related professional experience. Masters level education is considered an asset. You are comfortable making presentations and you excel at managing multiple projects at one time. You also have significant experience in sourcing out additional research funding coupled with experience in writing successful proposals for those funds.
